Thank you to everyone who registered/attended the film screening and panel discussion for Eastpointe! If you were unable to attend, wish to share the event, or want to view it again, see below for the links to the Zoom recordings, as well as links shared in the chat.

We want to give a huge shout out and thank you to all our panelists for their involvement and stories shared!

  • Grace McNally, Film's Director
  • Pastor Albert Rush, Pastor of Eastpointe Immanuel United Methodist Church, featured in the film
  • Susan Soto Palmer, Yakima WA Voting Rights Act case plaintiff
  • Colin Cole, More Equitable Democracy Policy Director

Also, thank you to our co-sponsors. These organizations are also actively working on ranked choice voting and proportional representation here in Washington State. Please visit their websites for more information.

I wanted to also let you know I made an error in answering one of the questions related to possible reasons the Massachusetts initiative for ranked choice voting did not win in the 2020 election. I said it might have had to do with money from the opposition, which was incorrect. It was actually the opposite. News coverage following the election reported the proponents raised and spent over $10 million compared to the opponents -- who were barely visible in the campaign and spent less than $10,000. One reason suggested was possibly poor messaging.
