Thank Election Heroes Day!

PAST EVENT
Event Details

Americans across race, place and party believe in the freedom to decide for ourselves who represents us. In the face of a pandemic and many barriers, Americans have turned out in record numbers to cast ballots to have our voices heard.

Unfortunately, some individuals have spread lies about our election in an effort to sow distrust about our elections and have threatened hard working election workers with violence just for doing their jobs.

Election workers are essential workers that support our communities - like nurses, grocery store workers, letter carriers, and firefighters. Our democracy depends on them.

Throughout the deadly pandemic, election workers have sacrificed their own health and safety to ensure that we are able to cast our votes safely and they work overtime to ensure that every vote is counted accurately.

Let's come together to thank our election workers to let them know how grateful we are that they count every vote and protect our freedom to vote.

Join us on April 12 to Thank Election Heroes!

Here are some of the ways you can say THANK YOU to your local elections workers where you live: (WA State election offices info listed below)

• Call or email your election office
• Send or deliver a thank you card or letter of appreciation
• Send or deliver balloons or flowers
• Send or deliver cookies (pre-packaged, like Girl Scout Cookies)
• Post or record your THANK YOU and share on social media using #ElectionHeroes
• Spread the word and ask your friends & family to do the same!

SAMPLE MESSAGE:
"Hi, I’m {first name} from {town, state}. I will be voting in this year’s midterm election, and I want to thank the dedicated members of my community who served as local election officials and poll workers. You make democracy happen. Under extreme pressure, you are democracy heroes. Thank you."
